South East Cone II

The Paroxysm at 9th of Juli

May a new episode of Mt. Etnas activity was 'real' reopened by a lucky visit of  Martin. One week before the seismic of the volcano let us run to the area and around without succes. We recognised  some rumbling in the Bocca Nuova and little ash emission at the South East cone II. That was all :-(. The only advantage of this previsit was, that we could hike through the beautiful landscape of Mt.Etna and discovered some new positions.

The deep inside view shows big lava bubbles discharging from two vents. The eruption is moving on. Beginning with meter sized lava shreds the main fountain was discharging rapidly wide over the rims
